When you hear July 4th, you think of the USA, fireworks, parties, and red, white, and blue. Every year, Americans celebrate this holiday to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. It’s a day for friends and family to gather, enjoy each other’s company, and have a good time. With July 4th being such an important holiday, you should consider throwing the party!
Below, I’ve listed the necessary elements that go into throwing the ULTIMATE July 4th celebration.
1. Create Personalized Invitations
Don’t drop the ball when it comes to your July 4th party invitations. Create a personalized invite that your friends and family will love! There are plenty of free websites, like Canva, that allow you to make custom invitations. On your invitation, make sure to include the party location, time, and any specific instructions like to bring a bathing suit or BYOB.
2. Make Delicious Drinks
A party is never complete without having amazing and delicious drinks and cocktails. Some great drinks you could serve include Patriotic Punch or Red, White, and Blue Slushies. For the adults at your party, you can’t go wrong with having themed jello shots.
3. Use Patriotic Decorations
Deck out your party with red, white, and blue decorations. American flags, patriotic plates and cutlery, streamers, confetti, and whatever else you can think of! Depending on your budget, you can either purchase your decorations at a party store or DIY.
4. Serve Colorful Desserts
Take your party food to the next level with patriotic July 4th desserts. No-Bake Berry Icebox Cake, Patriotic Whoopie Pies, Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries, and July 4th Milkshakes! Don’t those desserts sound mouth-watering? Every year, I love making an American Flag Jello Cake with whipped cream and strawberry, blueberry, and lemon jello.
5. Hand Out Red, White, And Blue Party Favors
It’s important that you give your party guests a favor to take home. It’s really easy to create DIY July 4th favors that involve candy. For example, giving guests a bag of red, white, and blue M&M’s or July 4th Twizzler favors (shown above).
6. Create A July 4th Party Playlist
Get the party going with a Fourth of July playlist! Put both party and patriotic songs on it like “Party In The U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus and “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk On The Moon. If you don’t have the time to make your own playlist, use one from a music streaming service. Also, make sure to get wireless Bluetooth speakers to play the music on.
7. Have Themed Activities
To keep your July 4th party lively, you need to have fun activities for all ages. If it’s a hot day out, playing water balloon pinata or toss is a great idea. Other activities you could have include cornhole toss, patriotic bingo, pin the hat on Uncle Sam, and flip cup. When it gets dark out, make sure to break out the sparklers! Your party is sure to be a hit if you include all of the above! Let us know what you’re doing this July 4th in the comments below. Hope you have a great holiday!
