Believe it or not, work doesn’t have to be miserable. If you’re in the right profession, then going to work shouldn’t be so dreadful every week. Are you wondering if it’s time to start applying to jobs again?
Here are 7 signs you need a new job:
1. You’re lazy and unmotivated.
You’ve given up on doing your best. You have no desire to go above and beyond like you did when you first started your new job. You just don’t feel motivated to do well anymore for whatever reason, and maybe your work lacks quality as a result.
2. You dread going to work every day.
Whether it’s as soon as your alarm goes off in the morning or before you fall asleep at night, you just do not want to go to work. (This is no way to add quality to your life!)
3. The thought of working instantly brings you down.
Are you depressed when you think about your heavy workload? Or when the weekend is almost over? What about when you’re even just sitting in the office? No matter where you are or when you think about it, the thought of work gets you down.
4. You don’t get along with any of your co-workers.
So the responsibilities of your career are cool… but the people you work alongside are not. This can put a major strain on your perception of work and make you dislike it entirely.
5. You rarely receive appreciation or positive feedback from your boss(es).
Do you feel like your manager doesn’t acknowledge your hard work and effort? Feeling unappreciated or overlooked can result in a loss of interest. Find a new job with an employer who will recognize and reward you for your skills and productivity!
6. There is no room for growth.
Maybe you enjoy your work, but there is no opportunity to grow beyond your current position. Dead end jobs are a huge reason to leave and start looking somewhere else.
7. Work doesn’t give you a sense of purpose or fulfillment.
Walking out the door at 5PM shouldn’t be the only time you feel good about the work day. If your job doesn’t bring a smile to your face (more often than not), then it’s time to reflect on what you really want to do in life and consider going elsewhere.
Do you agree with most or all of these 7 signs? If so, then it’s probably time for you to switch career paths!
If you do accept an interview invitation, remember to run the employer through a people search like Kiwi Searches before you go! You’ll save both yourself, and the company, some time.
